LOVE the new Search engine guys, it looks really cool and understandable. I am sure it will make people go into different sections more!

Agreed, it's not turned on 24 hours a day yet, I don't think, but it's on right now (quick, check it out, everyone!) - many thanks to Florian, Luca (and Jon!) for doing a really amazing job on it.

I have noticed a consequence of the new search engine being enabled.

Clicked on (more) next to This Just in
or
http://www.archive.org/searchresults.php?sort=addeddate%20DESC

before we would get a list of the recent archive insertions now we get a search engine query.

Thanks

Hm, you're right - I asked the search engine guys if they could do something about that, so hopefully we'll have a fix ASAP - I couldn't work out an alternative URL which would do the same thing, because I can't work out how to search for nothing :)

I have noticed a strange issue with the new search engine.

It seems that none of the Collected works entries for audio mediatype appear valid anymore,

error is
The collection and collection ID combination supplied is invalid.

search example
collected works AND mediatype:audio

many matches but all seem to fail.

It was reported but I want to make sure it is seen.
